My foul mood today Received a phone call from the landowner I hunt on last night. He says in a cheerful voice. Hey I've decided to let Phil...(his sons father in law...) hunt the farm the rest of the year. I said Ok...thinking no big deal 280 acres one more hunter no problem. Then he says I just wanted to let you know so you could make other plans. Other plans? What do you mean I say. Well you've hunted some bow season and when your friends were here (Henry and Kevin) and so I'm going to let him have it the rest of the season. Okeyyyyy What the h*!!? I know this man well enough to know when he makes his mind up there's no changing it. So I say well I'll be up to get my stands. He says, Oh I don't think he wants you up there messing around, you might mess things up. Mess things up....!! I've worked my butt off hanging stands and scouting and all that, I'll be danged if someone else is going to use them. So I said Jim if I'm not allowed to hunt there I'm going up to get my stands out of the woods. I'll be up there tomorrow. Well where are they he asks ? ALL OVER the farm. A ladder, a climber, a blind and 4 hang ons. Well I don't want you hunrting his hunting... Should be an interesting afternoon. I know I know things are tough all over...just ask the muslems in the airport this morning.

Wow! That sucks! Sorry to hear that. Just remember to remain calm, don't burn any bridges, and stay out of jail! Good luck!

Maybe it was "bringing in Henry and Kevin" that broke the camels back?

Maybe it was "bringing in Henry and Kevin" that broke the camels back? Nope they are from Missouri and we trade a turkey hunt for a deer hunt. Second year for it. They brough a bunch of Pheasants with them this year and turned them loose on his Pheasants Forever ground. They have a very good relationship and it was all set up way in advance.

He most definitely owes you an explanation for kicking you out in the middle of the deer season , that's just common courtesy . If no explanation is forthcoming I'd start shopping for a new landowner , because it sounds like the handwriting may be on the wall .
