What is your most successful set-up for bucks?
(I had to abbreviate some of the answers. Please read them below before voting.)
1) In thick bottleneck transition zones between doe bedding areas and food source
2) On thick fence rows or ditches that cross open areas between wood lines
3) On saddles with dense growth between hard wood ridges
4) On points that descend from ridge tops toward feeding areas
5) On the very edge of bedding areas
6) On hot scrape lines where ever they exist

I hunt the egdge of bedding areas. Bottle necks would be a second choice. If the does are there the bucks will be there from every direction.

Pretty flat and open around here, small wood lots with fence rows connecting them. Sometimes those fence lines can be killer spots to whack a good buck. Plus you can usually approach them without stinking things up. If they're bedded in the wood lot,you might run them out on your approach. Standing corn both sides, makes it all the more interesting. Get ready for some short range, fast action.

I like the transition zones until the rut begins and then it's wherever I find the does.

I hunt the travel routes all year long. Most times the does stay on the same pattern whether they are in heat or not. Until the food source changes then they will change. They usually wont make a drastic change though so just gotta stay flexible... I usually hunt funnel areas if I can get to them quiet and gently. Thats my best tip.

Find the doe bedding areas, set up downwind, and odds are fair to good the bucks will be there sooner or later.
