Very nice collection of points!!!!!! I hunt some in Madison County and love it. I actually found a true arrowhead near home last year that would be a post contact period point. It's about 1 1/4 inches long and resembles a modern two blade broadhead. While deer hunting on Thanksgiving day last year a buddy found a nice 5 inch celt that was in perfect shape. Good hunting!!!

I found one up at Totem Rock at Patoka Lake.....no clue as to it's period, but it was pretty cool to find. It's the only one I've found.

It's amazing how many points have been found just in Indiana. They must have missed a lot. ;d

I thought it was illegal to take any Indian artifacts now. Or is that just when you dig them out of the ground?

It is only illegal to dig. Surface finds are okay.
You have some very nice points to be proud of.
I've been AH hunting since I've been a kid. I'm not called mudstrider for nothing! I just can't get out there as often as I'd like anymore. Found a 5" leaf point last year... best one in awhile. Similar to the one in your 3rd frame, 2nd from bottom left.
Were all these found in Indiana? Curious about the Daltons in the bottom frame; didn't know they were found around here. Ever find any Thebes? They're my favorites. Do you only have your own personal finds, or do you trade/purchase any? Just curious about what other AH hunters do. A lot of collectors trade/buy them. I don't because I just can't see having any that I didn't find. The experience of finding them is where the fun is.

I enjoy collecting AH as well. Some pottery shards including a large number I find walking the mesas of s c NM. Most AH were found in Decateur, Lawrence and Owen counties. Do you guys have copies of Eli Lilly's book "Prehistoric Antiquities of Indiana" publ. 1929 ?

I also have some honey holes down in Russel County Kentucky that a large majority of these came from.. Buying these days is just flat out dangerous.. I bought one point 4 years ago and it had been chemically aged made to look old, so I called it quits immediately and decided to get my own...As far as thebes.. The one in the frame with blue backing (upper most one straight up from middle lost lake) is my best one... Believe it or not it was a field find!!!One tiny mousebite ding to one of the ears but other than that it is perfecto!!

One of the fellas I asked permission to trap on the other day was telling me about all the artifacts around his home. He said that "modern" indians lived at the site of his home up until 1917....and when they dug the foundation for his house they unearthed tons of pottery shards and points. He said the fields around his home are loaded....and gave me permission to come back and try to find some. Nice old man...I think I'll take him up on it!
