During the entire deer season (early archery, firearm, muzzleloader and late archery) how many bucks do you normally pass up?
1 to 5
6 to 10
11 to 15
16 to 20
21 to 25
26 and up
I don’t pass any buck.

I voted 1 to 5, assuming you are asking about individual bucks, as opposed to shot opportunities...
This was last years count, only at one property (my parent's). Didn't see any bucks that I had a shot opportunity at here at home on my little 3-4 acre slice of woods....

Im voting 6-10 legitimate shot opportunities. Just because I see it dont mean I can kill it. The crops seem to play a major role in my buck sightings. Last year sucked but the crops have been rotated and Im looking for this year to be alot better.

I don`t pass on a single buck. I`m a meat hunter, as well as getting an evil thrill out of taking lots of photo`s of my "inferior" deer to honk off the so called, serious hunters.

I have probably averaged 6-10 bucks passed up per year over the last 6-7 years. Last year I passed up 13 different bucks and shot # 14 all but 4 of those were 1.5 yo bucks. It was one of my worst years in a long time as far as the number of 2.5 yo or older bucks I saw. It was also an odd year in that every buck I saw gave me a shot opportunity and almost none of the does did. This year I will probably take the first decent buck I see with a bow.

Did not vote as I am lucky if I see one in a year. But I might see 15 to 20 does, but they usually do not show up until muzzlelaoder is in. What I am able to hunt is what I call a pass thru woods althought there are places in it that could be bedding areas the deer seem to avoid them. Makes me wonder why or if the fact that they used to raise hogs and maybe that is where the pens were drained to. Corn or beans on sides.

Interesting results so far. It looks like over 60% of the hunters are willing to let small bucks walk. I havn't shot a buck in over 10 years just because I haven't had a chance at one I wanted. I probably have 5 shot opportunities per year at the basket racks

Interesting indeed.
81.5% of the hunters that have responded say that they pass bucks every year.

Opening weekends I let the spikes & forkhorns pass (1-5). After that, I'm looking to fill the freezer.

It's now up to 84% that pass up bucks.
Are we a selective bunch or what?
