My neighbor finally got his combine & grain wagons in the fields yesterday to start harvesting.

Nothing down here but some silage cutting. Beans are starting to turn yellow in some fields, but they still have leaves. Corn is just starting to turn. I can't wait to see the gravity trailers come out.

Personally I rather see the corn/beans stay standing in the fields during bow season, even thru gun season would be great but you can't have everything.......

They were cutting beans on Sunday, got probably 150 acres out. They've started picking corn in a few places, mostly just taking out end rows.
This is all in southern Montgomery Co.

The beans in both little farms I can hunt are juuust about ready-they MAY start cutting in the next week or two.
Corn looks like it will be ready immediately after, weather permitting.
I sure don`t want any standing corn-keeps the deer out of the woods.

The above statement is true only to a certain point......Me I personally rather have the corn stay in the field during bow season..personnal preference and it also depsneds on the area you're hunting.

I prefer the corn being down. I hate tracking deer in standing corn & leaving scent on every corn stalk/leaf you rub-up against.

Neither are to close here. Beans are still green and the pods I pulled apart to look at are green and wet. Maybe by the Middle of Oct they will be ready. Corn- most stalks are brown so we need a week or two of warm dry windy weather to dry the corn on the stalk. Talked to the farmer that lets me hunt today and he said it was probably at least two weeks befor the corn was ready and longer for the beans. I did not ask but that leaves my guess as being pretty close. Looks like slow hunting until towards the end of Oct.

Just starting to pick corn down here in southwest (Pike Co.). Noticed two fields down the road from me being picked as I came home from work this evening.
