In the last two weeks I have spent
69.00 on new hunting boots for my son
130.00 on new camo clothing for my son
60.00 on a dozen new arrows for my son
249.00 on a new Viper Climber for my son
40.00 for 6 new broadheads for my son
30.00 for 15 rounds of 20 guage ammo for my son
I'm glad I only have one son...lol

$578?? Hey, Dad, can I borrow some money? ;D
Seriously, that's enough to cover our daycare bill for a month with two kids! I've only got one son too, but our daughter's older.... I don't even wanna think about how much I'm going to be spending on either one of them in another 10 years. And to top it off, we are thinking that she is going to be a lefty! Hopefully she'll be right-eye dominant though, so I won't have to buy all new guns! ;D
Good luck to your boy this season. Is this his first season shooting while hunting? I assume he's gone out with you........

No,....it's his third year hunting/shooting. Problem is it's like this every year
Boots too small, clothes out grown, so on and so on....lol
This will be his first year with a climbing tree stand, for the last two years we have been hunting out of a ground blind. We bought him the climber for his birthday (he's 13 now)....he has practiced with it 3-4 times a week, climbing the tree and shooting his bow out of the stand.
I am EXTREMELY pleased with his bow shooting this year!!!!!

Just a few hopefully good suggestions........
I'm sure that a safety harness came with the stand.
It is supposedly a "one size fits all", but I am not too sure on a youngster.
Be sure and check that out and allow him some practice climbing under your watchful eye well before deer season.
In the dark on opening weekend is not the time to learn to use a climber.
Good luck to both of you..

I know it sounds like a lot, but you can't put a price on memories. I'm doing the same thing with my son, but I consider every dime an investment in our relationship.
Time and money well spent!!!

Did you get anything for yourself ? Yep , you sure did , a great investment in your future hunting enjoyment . None of my kids have the desire to hunt , but their kids are another matter ...
