With the new regulations out and updated, and very lenient bag limits...how many does will YOU havest this season? I would like to take 3 for meat! Beyond that and I may have to start asking family and friends if I can rent a little freezer space!

I got two last year , which didn't quite fill our small freezer , so I'd like to get at least three this year . If we clean out last year's meat before the season starts I might up that to four . Anything over that(yeah right ... ) would go to someone needy .

Three does would be enough meat for me, but I will take more than that if oppurtunity allows because there is never a shortage of people willing to recieve a deer or two in my area.

I killed seven doe last year and five the year before. I butcher my own and give a couple needy family's meat ever year. I haven't killed a buck in the last two years. h.h.

Living in one of the deer reduction areas I can take up to nine, so I'll do my part. I have several non-hunting friends who have asked for a freezer deer, plus my own freezer. We even have an exotic animal rescue center in the county who rescues large cats (Lions, Tiger, etc.) So I might take them one this year. Last year I took six doe, no bucks.
As someone who owns tillable land and benefits from the income, I see the need to control deer populations to within reasonable levels.

I'll shoot them so long as they present good shot opportunities until I'm out of legal tags for my county and I have people who want the meat. I usually keep two deer for myself and my family, but I have many people who do not hunt yet love the meat. I usually end up giving a couple deer away to people who want them. Last year I shot 4 does, two of which went to families very gracious to receive the meat. I even do all the processing for them.

Shot two deer last year and am just about tapped out. Would like to stick three or four in the freezer.
If things work out like I hope this fall, I'll have an elk too, so might not need many deer.

We have enough freezer space for 4, usually eat 3 deer per year. Sounds like Indiana is going to give me that opportunity this Fall. ;D

I encourage you all to whack em all, old or young. Its arguably one of the best contributions you can make to the state's deer herd.

Hard to say for sure. Depends on how many people I can find that want them. If I'm at my parents, I might take a few and donate them at D&R Market in Lafayette if Mom & Dad don't need the meat. If I'm at home, it's a different story....

Last year I took 2....based on the numbers I've been seeing this year at the farm, I'm hoping for 3-4.
