Folks, I have just came from covering the N. Pittsburgh chapter banquet. They grossed $65,000 with just 176 attendees, and I am loaded with ideas. More on that later. What I'm asking now is an unusual favor. Will you contact your committees and let them know the new Indy chapter could use any items for their banquet that you might want to donate to help a new chapter out. Anything from a general raffle item, to a print or gun, just to get them going. They will reciprocate in the coming year, I'm sure. They plan to conduct the first grazer in the nation, as you know by now, and your attendance would also be wonderful. You will have first hand look at whether this concept will work for your chapter. Please consider coming and try to get some of your committee to come as well. It's Nov. 4th at Primo's Catering, just off I-65 south of I-70. I'll keep you posted.
Indy is pulling out all the stops, including trying to get Colts cheerleaders to the banquet, inviting famous Indy celebs, having at least 30 guns to raffle and auction off, and focusing on offering the unusual (full length fur coat, a couple of rare WWII rifles, a no lose raffle (you pay $20, get a $20 hat AND a chance at a huge cooler and a year's supply of Budweiser-not confirmed yet, 50-60 silent auction items, and a short, short live auction, including two hunts and a neat fishing trip in bear country, etc.) There will be a wall of guns, with 20 or more guns raffled off at the end of the night. Two or three guns will be in the live auction, and 7 or 8 will be given away in the general raffle.
This is our last banquet of the year, and our last hope to help put the eastern division back to where it should be, revenue wise. Consider this banquet your best source for buying Christmas presents for your loved ones (like your beloved Regional Director! Just checking to see if you're reading this).
Anyone with a donated item is asked to contact me to arrange pick up or shipping. I will absorb shipping costs or pick it up personally. Thanks for helping us throughout the year and suporting the mission so well. We value your partnership much more than you might know, and without our volunteers, there would be no RMEF, no protected habitat and migratory routes, and there would be thousands less critters alive and healthy across this great nation.
Thanks for all you do!
