Does anyone know the NRA's stance on fair chase. I received a call tonight requesting that I join a new NRA group for hunters. The group has been formed to protect hunters rights. However, when I questioned the telemarketer she couldn't not tell e whether the NRA does or doesn't support Fair Chase.
Anyone know?

You will not get a statement from the NRA concerning "fair chase" as their main objective is to protect 2nd amendment rights. If you own a gun or even if you dont and believe that our rights should be protected then you should join. The magizines alone are worth the price of membership. Sign up! Heck most of us spend more than that on crap we dont even need all the time! WE ALL NEED THE NRA!

Gundude,
I'm a member, the NRA called wanting me to join the NRA's new chapter specifically regimented towards protecting hunters rights. I just dont want to join if money from my membership in NRA Hunter is, or will be used to promote, endorse or fight in any way for fenced hunting.

I`m a life member of NRA`s hunting branch called Free Hunters. I posted a thread at the Free Hunters website upon hearing about the WHA and their plans, asking if Free Hunters was going to be a leader in denouncing the WHA and their dart tournament. I never heard a peep out of them.

In answer to your question about whether NRA supports ONLY fair Chase, good question. I can tell you this-NRA SUPPOSEDLY spoke out immediately upon hearing about that WHA had planned, I never heard it or saw it but that`s what they say.
I scanned the Free Hunters website, and I couldn`t find anything there about what they support. I went to the NRA-ILA website, Hunting, the NRA Hunter Code of Ethics and found this:
I will consider myself an invited guest of the landowner, seeking his permission, and so conducting myself that I may be welcome in the future. I will obey the rules of safe gun handling and will courteously but firmly insist that others who hunt with me do the same.
I will obey all game laws and regulations, and will insist that my companions do likewise.
I will do my best to acquire those marksmanship and hunting skills, which insure clean, sportsmanlike kills.
I will support conservation efforts, which can assure good hunting for the future generations of Americans.
I will pass along to younger hunters the attitudes and skills essential to a true outdoor sportsman. That`s they have that I could find. You may be able to get them to contact you if you click on the contact button at the bottom of the page.
Good Luck.
