From another sportsman's website bulletin board. I truly doubt we'll ever see such a sight in Indianapolis, crossroads of America. Any thoughts?
Went to the pre-opening of the new Cabela's in Glendale Az yesterday. 10,000 people there during the day. Official opening is tomorrow and they say that 30,000 to 50,000 people are expected . Also expecting traffic jams on the nearby streets and freeway. The store is impressive. over 400 mounts in natural settings. I was disappointed only in the lack of 16ga ammo offered. _________________

I don't know about that....
I have it on pretty good authority that Cabelas & Bass Pro are both very interested in land that is getting ready to be developed at I-70 & 6 Points out by the Indy Airport.
They are attempting to get some kind of tax break from the politicians but we were told it's a done deal!

Camby.....you are correct. The 70 West development was asking for a tax break to get it off the ground last legislative session, but it never made it to the full house. I've seen the prints with my own eyes and the entire development has an "outdoor" theme with streams, woods, even an outdoor rec area. In the middle of all this........a HUGE block that has a label of "Outdoor Mega Store." When I asked the developer if it was BPS or Cabela's, he just smiled and wouldn't answer.....
We'll get one or the other there, or up on I-69 at the SR 238 exit.......just be patient!

Probably would have to get my paycheck direct deposited there!

I go by there everyday on my way to work and on the way home. Looks like i might be late getting home a few nights everyweek.
Althought the traffic on 238 is getting out of hand and with the mall going in i will probably have to start taking a different route.
