I heard that the Madison Urban Zone was going to be taken off the urban zone list this year, anyone know if this is true?

I don't know, but I would not think so, judging from the dead deer I see on the road, and the live ones I occasionally see on Clifty drive! I would like to hunt somewhere, but it can be a tricky business.

Seems I remember something about an urban zone being done away with in the proprosed rule changes that Woody posted a while back. Couldn't say for sure if it was Madison or not. Even if it was, it was just a proposed rule change, it wasn't set in stone for sure at the time. I'd suggest looking through those proposals to see, or you can just wait until the new rules and regs come out and see then.

Here you go.
This has been preliminarily adopted.
I don't really think that the DNR has to get approval of the NRC to add or drop an urban zones.huntingindiana.proboards52.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=legislation&thread=1147363771&page=12. Clarifies the license types that can be used to take an extra deer under this section, including the youth license and lifetime license, and removes Madison from the list of urban deer zones. With the special deer hunts taking place in Clifty Falls State Park and increased number of antlerless deer that can be taken in Jefferson County, there is no longer a need for Madison to be listed as an urban deer zone.
