The WHA said that this would be a contest for the "top pro-hunters".
Now, the first five hunters signed-up for the WHA have been revealed... Anyone know ANY of these guys?
Karl Zainitzer
Brett Hankins
Garrett Armstrong
Joey Menegatti
Billy Stephenson

Hankins was the one dismissed from Natural Gear's pro staff. He is/was also affiliated with Matthew's. Zainitzer is listed as a pro staffer on xtremeoutdoorspro.com. He is also using his name as his user name at bowhuntingtalk.com. The other three are nobodys in the hunting world apparently. Couldn't find a scrap on them.
Looks like that's zainitzer's production company for bowhunting movies. The website has a contact us button. He has plenty of big name sponsors to write to also.

There is a guy named Garrett on one of the hunting shows, but I can not remember witch one. I think it has to do with one of the camo sponsers, if I remember correctly. Only thing I am sure of is that the Garrett I am thing of does not have anything to do with real tree or mossy oak.

Copied from another site. Re: World Hunting Association Posted: 06-23-2006 03:55 PM June 21, 2006 RE: WHA – Chemical Immobilization and Supporting Facts To Whom It May Concern: I am Chuck Sykes and many of you know me through my show “The Management Advantage”. I was one of the first people in this country to focus shows in and around education and deer management. I have been involved with WHA since near its inception. As you know, I would not involve myself in something that I did not feel would be great for the industry. We are lacking in youth recruiting and our retention needs some assistance. WHA brings “outside of the box” very well thought through strategies to enhance these efforts we are all attempting for hunting. I also can say that I have hunted with, and gotten to know David Farbman on a personal and actually spiritual level and he is without a doubt one of the most passionate, driven and ambitious hunters I have ever come across. Lately, there have been a number of misperceptions raised regarding the safety of the chemical immobilization process to be used in the World Hunting Association (WHA) white-tail deer competitions. As a wildlife biologist with over a decade of experience in wildlife management planning and establishing and maintaining commercial hunting operations, as well as a consultant for the WHA, I think it is important that I address these misperceptions and provide some insight into the safety considerations, methods and standards in which the WHA will be conducting the tournaments. Misperception 1: Darting white-tailed deer has a high mortality rate. Recent studies have demonstrated that the drugs historically used in chemical immobilization, Ketamine and Xylazine (K/X) had reduced the mortality rates to less than 2% and in one study of 112 deer the numbers were actually approaching 0%. Evaluating Deer Capture Methods; Wildlife Society Bulletin 2003, 31(4):1-xxx. The WHA has actually been working with an even more recent drug combination, Telazol and Xylazine (T/X) and preliminary information has indicated this combination to be much more effective than (K/X). Immobilization Of White-Tailed Deer Using Medetomidine/Ketamine Versus Xylazine/Telazol T. WAYNE SCHWERTNER1, MARK MITCHELL1, AND DAVID W. ROSBERG2; 1-Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Mason Mountain WMA, Mason, Texas 2-Hill Country Veterinary Hospital, Mason, Texas, 76856 & Telazol super (registered)-xylazine versus ketamine-xylazine: a field evaluation for immobilizing white-tailed deer: Kilpatrick, HJ: Sphohr, SM: Wildlife Society Bulletin. Vol. 27, no. 3, pp. 566-570. 1999. Misperception 2: The conditions for the chemical immobilization at the competitions will not be safe, even if the drugs are effective. The WHA has worked to implement the safest approach to immobilizing the deer in competition, has already been certifying its key personnel in the process and will have a licensed veterinarian at each competition to handle the post capture care of the animals. The veterinarian will be performing the following procedures: • Establish a clear breathing pathway • Check the body temperature and assist to maintain adequate body temperature • Check all vital signs • Dart removal and antibiotic treatment to the wound • Oversee the removal of the animal from the field to the protective recovery zone • Blood work and vaccinations • Administration of the reversing agent, or antagonist Tolazoline • Monitoring the health of the animal during the 24 hour recovery period in the protective recovery zone WHA believes that Chemical Immobilization is a very serious event that must always be done properly and can never be taken lightly. Therefore, it has been the goal of the WHA from the very beginning to employ every available option to protect the animals to assure that a tested process is in place to calculate the drug dosage, minimizing trauma, monitoring the animals’ condition post drug delivery, and administering any needed antibiotic, vaccination, or vitamin the animal could possibly benefit from by a licensed veterinarian so that we do the utmost to protect the health of these animals. The WHA also believes in responsible herd management. We will be harvesting a large number of does, as well as a number of cull bucks in order to maintain a balanced herd at the property. Many aspects to our website WWW.Worldhunt.com will convey these management practices, and they will be discussed in our made for TV video of the tournaments and the overall show. I think if we all open our minds up a bit we can do something truly special for hunting. Change is difficult, but sometimes it is the best option. David Farbman and a group of strong partners are passionately dedicated to empowering the hunting industry. Thank you for hearing some factual evidence and more will come soon. Sincerely, Chuck Sykes

There you go a web site and a name to point your objections too. I also am against this this. If it does go forward, which I feel would be bad for hunting. I personally am going to boycott all of their sponsers products that I can and would encourage all others to do so also.

The streaming video on the WHA site lists a "Hack Albertson" from Scottsburg, IN....
That's all we need, another black eye on Indiana hunting/hunters.....

If it is the same Hack Albertson that runs the Allstate Insurance agency in town, I think I know several friends who are avid hunters that will be cancelling policies and finding another company.
