………………..to win this call by Gobblerstopper aka Kaiser Kalls.Gobblestopper has graciously donated one of his great custom turkey calls as a Pre-Turkey Contest prize. The pot and striker are both turned from Zebrawood. A wood that because of the grain, makes no two calls the same. The call has medium rasp and plays well at any volume. Check out all his custom calls at.. www.kaiserkalls.com/I will close the contest at 2:00 pm CST TODAY and lock the thread so there can be no more entries. So if you want in on a chance at this fine custom call click on the following thread and register your number guess. huntingindiana.proboards52.com/index.cgi?board=turkey&action=display&thread=1143057865Thanks and good luck...

Again thanks to Gobblestopper for this donation.
Woody, if by any chance I win this call I would like to re-donate it and have another contest for our young turkey hunters. I don't know how you would run it and it don't really matter. I have more than enough calls so lets give it to someone who will put it to good use and hopefully kill a trophy bird.

shootsa410, a call for youths is something else that I ran by Woody. I make a small slate call (2 3/4" calling surface) that would be great for someone younger than about 5. It has a good sound, but would also allow a youth to comfortably hold the call and learn the basics. I also make a 3" glass call that would fit the hands of a youth not quite able to handle the 3 1/2" pot.
I have a 12 year old nephew that has been running the 3 1/2" surface for two years now, but it is just getting comfortable for him.
If you have any ideas on how to do it and Woody doesn't mind, shoot me a PM and I'll get something turned.
Andy

If we can just figure out how to get the call in the hands of a kid in a contest, let's do it!! You all work out the details and post it up. THANKS again

Since the youngin should shoot their gun before the season, how about we have each of the kids take one shot at the home.nctv.com/mcminn/target2.htm turkey target. The target will be sent to Woody (with his approval) and Woody will come up with a number for BBs in the Vital area. The number of BBs closest to the number Woody picked will determine the winner.

Not recently.
I know he was down in KY taking his nephew to the youth turkey hunt.
I think his post on that was the last time he has been on here.
