WOW !! Now that's what I call a show of respect for a fallen hero ! I didn't even know him and I'm all choked up . That's powerful stuff .

Somebody needs to send that to Cindy Sheehan. I wonder why the Reverand Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church didn't protest at this funeral?

Even after all of the bad things that the government did to the Indians it is amazing how they feel about this country. More than that it shows how they feel about their fallen warriors. Maybe the rest of us need to think about how we honor our fallen warriors. This makes taps, 21 gun salute and a tri corner flag seem a little weak. As for Fred and Cindy instead of being media darlings they should be ignored. I kind of like the eagle feather idea if they would have shown up.
They would have a song in their honor. Lost and gone forever.

I got nothing other than the first picture to show up with that link. Said "service unavailable" when I tried clicking on any of the others... I can imagine what the rest of them were though, and that's fine with me.
I'm originally from Lafayette, and between myself and my family know 2 of the 3 soldiers killed in Iraq from the Lafayette area. I was in Boy Scouts with one of them; Brian's death really hit home. I believe he had some Lakota blood in him, if it wasn't Lakota there was some Indian blood of some sort. I was there when the Gold Star was presented to Brian's mother. Through all of that, she still believes in the mission that is ongoing in Iraq. Brian definately believed it, and knew the difference that was being made.
I just wish the media would tell both sides of the story, rather than the doom and gloom. But that wouldn't make for good TV....

Many Americans could learn something from this slide show, but those aren't the ones whom need the lessons. Those that do need a lesson just wouldn't get it. Thanks Woody for sharing this. Prayers to the brave young man's family circle!
