Any of you guys using a factory mossberg barrel? If you are then what kind of slugs do you shoot? Do you shoot 2 3/4 or 3" shells?
Im thinking about getting one and wonder how they shoot? What kind of accuracy do they have? h.h.

I do not shoot a Mossberg 835 for deer hunting, but I will comment on slug size. Go with the 2 3/4. In the majority of slug offerrings, the main--and sometimes only-- difference between 2 3/4 slugs and the 3" is the size of the wad. Seriously. If you go with the mossberg, I'm sure it will do fine accuracy-wise. Remember the old smoothbore-n-bead days? You may also consider having a gunsmith pin the barrel. This is a simple screw that goes through the reciever and butts against the barrel. It removes a lot of the extra vibration from the barrel and is supposed to be one of the best things you can do to a pump for accuracy.

I shoot a rifled 835 cantelever barrel with redfield scope. 3" winchester slugs good to 100 yards. Closer the better!
