If you have the opprotunity to shoot a white deer, would you do it or not. Personally i've passed in the past, and she was the last one i've ever seen while hunting.
Thanks for the info, Lug

I'd probably pass as well, give others a chance to see it.

I thought for some reason, that they were protected in Indiana. Guess not.

I thought for some reason, that they were protected in Indiana. Guess not. They are in some states , Indiana isn't one of them though . Yes , I'd take it down without hesitation .

Yes, if it was a nice buck, even though there is an old indian legend that promises bad deer hunting luck for 7 years.

NO. Now if it was a matter of needing food for survival that would be a different story.

The 1st time my Dad took me hunting we saw an albino doe (about 35 years ago). I never saw another while hunting till last year in Illinois. He was a non-typical and was probally the biggest body deer I've ever seen. I've probally over a dozen in the wild ( State parks and others from the road).
To me they are a rare trophy. If I had an albino doe and a 140" buck under my stand I'd take the doe in a heartbeat!

Some Native Americans consider a white deer sacred. Much like a white bison.
Me? It is just another rare der.
Would I kill one. In a heart beat.

I would take an albino if given the opportunity. I have a piebald on the wall, so an albino would look cool next to him even if it was a doe.

Yes, I would shoot. They are fun to see, but they often suffer from poor vision, joint problems, and a host of other ailments. Piebalds sometimes come with stunted, wierd legs and share many of the same kind of problems that albinos do. These days, the DNR urges hunters to eliminate such deer for the health of the herd. Neat trophy!

The one albino that i've seen (while hunting) was a young doe. In fact when i seen it, i had no clue what it was, i was quite baffled! I believe i was about 16yr old at that time, 14 years later of hunting and i've not seen another while in the stand.
