I just went to TN site and those guys have it 100 percent right! They are way more in line with my way of thinking then most here.To support this ban is to support anti hunting groups aganda s they stated.Good job TN! Yeah, the crimes at Bellars' place REALLY helped our hunting heritage, it REALLY helped promote hunting. ANYONE who hunted Bellars' Place has helped the antis more than any ban could or will. Bellars place has put a bad spotlight on ALL hunters, because the antis' will classify us in one group. Chucker, I am sure Ted will gladly take another sheepish follower, as well as your money..... Maybe they could not obtain all the records of who hunted there. Maybe they were destroyed. Maybe they were granted immunity for helping nail Bellar...?? Solohunter

BTW Camby , when are you gonna quit harping on the ones who testified against Bellar in exchange for reduced sentences ? They didn't get immunity , they got lesser charges and penalties . IOW , they didn't get off scot free . Get over it already , the big fish was what mattered from the start , take him out and there will be no smaller fish , just ask any cop or DA . Geez !

Really, what was the charge amended to, and what was the penalty. IF Houston plead to a lesser charge, why did he post the pic of the illegal kill on his web site??? For once, I agree with Camby. they should have been prosecuted along with Bellar.

I agree Ted has done a lot of good for hunting, but like Hoyt said, he does turn people off. I think Ted makes us all look like over the top wackos to the non-hunting public that he reaches, and that is a very bad thing!

I don't think I will ever get over it..... I am not sure where you got your info but here is what I know. There were only TWO people charged in the Bellar case.....Russ Bellar and Hinds Tom Jones. Those charges were filed and prosecuted in a FEDERAL court. To date.... no one other than the two above have been charged IN ANY COURT. Wildlife violators by the dozen came forward and testified that they themselves broke Indiana law while they were in Miami County. If charges are pressed, they must be filed in MIAMI COUNTY, because that is where the crimes took place. The Miami County prosecutor IS AWARE of the crimes and he refuses to pursue them. The federal prosecutor did NOT make any deals with the folks who testified against Bellar. Several of those folks COULD have also been charged with Lacey Law violations also! Hinds Tom Jones got off with a slap on the wrist and is currently running a high fence operation somewhere in Mississippi. Russ Bellar is sitting in a very low security "prison"....counting his cash. He still has hundreds of tame deer running his property...and he still ownd the deer and the property. His buddies are still doing everything they can to turn what Bellar did into a perfectly legal business in Indiana. Although I have never been given an exact amount, the Bellar investigation and prosecution involved hundreds of thousands of dollars and a whole bunch of man hours. Bellars fine won't even put a dent in the expense of prosecuting him. Hunting without a license, hunting out of season, hunting a baited area, hunting with an illegal weapon, exceeding bag limits, failure to meet hunter orange requirements.....are ALL violations that took place. The authorities know WHO did it, The authorities know WHEN they did it, The authorities know HOW they did it....and in many cases the VIOLATORS don't deny doing it and have video of them doing it!!!! Recently, several youths in Southern Indiana were arrested for wildlife violations......are those kids really ant different than the likes of Jimmy Houston, Ronnie Dunn and the dozens of other wildlife violators that came to Indiana to break laws?

Camby , is it even remotely possible that you could understand the concept of "let's make a deal" ? All of those wildlife violators who came forward had a dammed good reason for doing so , they knew that they would get caught up in the investigation and could end up charged with offenses . By stepping up and offering to testify against Bellar they increase their chances of getting reduced penalties , or none at all , and the prosecution gets the ammo they need to take down the big fish . This is SOP in law enforcement , let the little ones go to get the big one . Once again , take out the hooker and the johns have nowhere to go . Everybody but you seems to know and accept this concept , you can't take everybody down , it just ain't gonna happen if you want to achieve the greater goal .
