Would some of the TNUSA people please expain why they think a real hunter should support this BS. I for the life of me cannot understand why everyone who loves to hunt would not be appalled at this type of antler killing. I do believe they are showing their ignorance by associating those of us who believe in fair chase hunting with organizations such as HSUS and PETA. Sad day when a supposed hunting site thinks it is OK to purchase huge rack to put on the wall and act like you hunted it.

I got to thinking about this more after my first post. It is pure BS that these sheep follow TN just because he USED to be somewhat famous. These nonthinking individuals are the same type that elected Hillary to office. Just because TN continually hunts from a ranch in Texas, they all think that it's the coolest and only way to "hunt", I use the term hunt VERY loosely. It makes me ill the way they all post stuff on TNUSA like "Ted blah, blah, blah, and actually expect him to respond. What a joke! These people are NOT true outdoorsmen/women IMO. And frankly, we don't want or need them in our ranks, or as part of our voice. Nugent thinks he is the second coming, and apparently so do his followers. I used to be a big Nugent fan, met him 3x, saw him in concert 4x, but anymore, after watching his lame 30 minute commercial he calls a hunting show, and seeing how he leads people to defend something that benefits him, I give up my fan status with no regrets.

When you all have done as much to promote hunters and hunting to as much of the public as Ted has then maybe the stones you are throwing will actually carry some weight.

Other celebrities have/are promoting hunters and hunting, without the excess baggage of a pompous ass. Besides if we all had celebrity status, we WOULD promote our sport for the better of all, not just the benefit of a bunch of wanna be hunters. It's a shame that a topic could make us attack each other, but when it comes to high fence "hunting" there is only one right side to be on for an ETHICAL sportsman.

Mbogo, that's a little unfair. Many do not have the national spotlight Ted has and have done as much on a local level. I truly believe I've done as much if not more due to my occupation. However, you fail to mention that there are many that Ted has turned off to hunting. Unfortunately, they may be what I consider the most important members of what I think will be the fight to save hunting in the future: the general public who don't have a dog in the fight on either side but whose opinion will carry much weight.
To be honest, I really could care less either way about Ted. Sure he does some good, but he also turns some folks off. Is it a wash? I have no idea.

Hoyt,
Isn't it also unfair to ignore all the good someone does for our sport because that person disagrees with you on one issue? It is the effort that matters not the celebrity status. Many celebrities far better Known than Ted hunt, none of them promote the sport as much as he does. Ted promotes hunting in everything that he does, how many others, regardless of celebrity status can honestly say that. I'm know his style and attitude turn some people off, myself included, but I have never heard someone with an open mind say that he turned them against hunting.
I'm not attacking anyone here, but I think it needs to be said that the blind hatred and animosity that is directed toward anyone that supports high fenced hunting(especially when that person is not around to defend himself) does not reflect well on anyone.

hummm I for one am in neither of those classes. I do think Uncle Ted is as good for bowhunting as the NRA is for gun rights. You figure out what that means.

I read Teds sitre all the time but I have never signed up. I like Ted! I think he is a asset to sporting folks....regardless of his position on hunting fenced areas. I have questioned why all these sporting folk who are crying about the high fence places didn't get on the horn to the Miami County Prosecutor and demand that he charge all the wildlife violators in the Bellar case with the crimes they committed. Houses don't exists if there are no customers....the same thing applies to these high fence facilities

No Lug, not to me. I have been going to TNUSA for roughly 6 years now. It was the first hunting/forum site I joined. Over that time I have noticed that quite a few of them jump on whatever Ted says is right. Here is a recent topic that hints at the bandwagoners: nugeboard.tednugent.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/243435-2.htmlI have not done the research, but there were quite a few guys against the internet hunting. There have been hints of the flip flop/double standard on his site. Ted has done some good. I find it odd if they were boycotting IN for real, why did Ted come here and perform? It appears that someone is cool as long as they believe in what he spews. I defend their right to hunt the way the law will let them, but they seem to portray themselves as the end all. The site was not always like that. Solohunter Ted has done some good. He can high fence/bait all he wants.

Does it make you a bad person/hunter if you aren't against high fences? Lug No Lug , it just means that you might have some soul searching to do . High fence is a very contentious issue here , although it isn't everywhere . If you're gonna live here you have to ask yourself if that's what you want going on here , and the vast majority of Hoosiers , both hunters and non-hunters , don't . It's not a crime to be pro high fence , but don't expect the rest of us to share your view .
