Russ I could not have said it better. I moved from Madison County to Dubois and the quality of life difference is mind boggling. Long live Mayberry!

You're right inthat there are some of us that don't want all the benifits of a larger city, with it's crime, pollution, and traffic. Your mayor sounds like he'd be happier in a larger city like Indianapolis.

Sounds more like your mayor is doing what most mayors do....try to attract jobs, because every election that is what is #1 on their oppositions agenda to dethrown the current mayor. It's all about the unemployment rate....which directly leads to poverty rates/pregnancy rates/child neglect rates.

I do know that when I am not working my wife seems to become pregnant, I have yet to see the connection. ;D

I'd agree that things are getting tougher for the average guy, however it's not just Indiana, it's nationwide, and many states are way worse. Also, I can't think of another country that has a better deal going for it's citizens than the good old USA.
Best thing we can do as citizens to control this stuff, is get involved and speak your mind on the local level. Next time they want a new; school, jail, road, etc. in your neighborhood, show up at the hearings and speak your piece. Or better yet, run for a local political office, school board, or whatever.

Man DRS you sure are full of great insitefull information. What exactly do you have against Indiana and the USA? Why let it get you down? Just move to where ever you think the sun always shines, I am sure it will be better for you. Just close the door behind you.

Talked with one of our tax gals today, called her with my usual ignorant questions. Everything changes year to year..my main question this year was about the estate/death tax and the exemption limits. This tax is being phased out, then phased back out to certain past exemption limits, so on and so forth,,geesh.....who knows... Solohunter

Well, now you're going to have to wash your hands again, DRS. Keep stirring, I love it! LOL!!!!!!!!!! Outside of an across-the-board taxpayer revolt. It is sad, but nothing is going to change, as the majority of the American tax-paying public has been passified into submission over the years.
