Swiss tighten gun controls
BERN -- Switzerland, where one in seven people owns a gun, will tighten gun control and harmonize weapons rules nationwide as part of an accord with Germany, Italy, France and Austria to do away with border controls.
The revised weapons law will come into force in 2007 at the earliest, the Justice Ministry said yesterday. It includes the registration of imitation and air weapons, ending private gun sales without a permit as well as a ban on carrying "dangerous items" such as chains, baseball bats and metal pipes with the intention of using them as weapons.
The country of 7.4 million is home to at least 1.2 million privately owned guns, according to the ministry, not including some 500,000 army weapons soldiers keep at home.
There are no plans yet for a central registry of all owners of firearms.

www.gunownersalliance.com/swiss-1.htmDon't be too quick to judge the Swiss on gun control , they have one of the rare few models that seems to be working . Of course their model allows all to have guns , by law no less .

Yes, and that is probably why France and Germany wanted to corrupt it.
