Game Wardens Killed In The Line Of DutyThey are known by various names such as Conservation Officers, Game Wardens, Wildlife Enforcement Agent, and Fish Wardens just to name a few. No matter what your state calls them there jobs are all basically the same, to protect our wildlife by enforcing game laws. A job that can be dangerous as the following links will show. There have been at least 227 wildlife officers that have been killed or have died while on duty. www.southeasternoutdoors.com/outdoors/hunting/game-warden/game-wardens-killed-on-duty-state.html

A very dangerous job that doesn't get the respect it deserves. I for one am thankful we have them out there for us and the wildlife. My hat goes off to anyone that stands guard no matter what service they are in.

They are out in the middle of nowhere at night trying to arrest a couple drunks with guns that are committing a crime. It doesn't get much more dangerous than that.

People that generally have bad things to say about them are the ones that were caught doing something wrong.... or routinely do things that are questionable and fear the C.O.. I'm sure that there are a few that have power-trip egos (just like other law enforcement) but the one's I've crossed paths with have always been courteous. I too am glad they are out there!
