Was watching a show called Antique Hunter which is based in Ontario. Premis of the show is very simple, there is a guy who goes all over the place looking for antiques. Todays show was in Indiana mainly on quilts and other Amish collectables. Part of the show was filed in Hunignton? Not sure but i think that was the name. Looked like a place my wife would really like. Seemed very clean with a lot opf friendly people. Will have to make a trip down there some day. I myself love history. Anything down there in the way of interesting museums. I like out of the way pioneer style.

You'll find all kinds of museums and antique shops down here , and yes , there's lots of friendly folks down here as well . One of the smaller towns near me has a pioneer days type festival , and I have little doubt that there are several others throughout the state . We have a lot of Amish and Mennonite folks too , and they always have interesting things to display and sell . The Huntingburg that Woody mentions is an area that was settled mostly by Germans , there are lots of quaint little towns there . Brown County boasts an artist community where you can find all sorts of arts and crafts , and even find things like Hummel figurines for very little .
I could shoot you a stack of brochures if you'd like , just PM an address to send them to . Most of them would deal with Southern Indiana , but you could probably get somebody from the North and Central areas to send some too .

One of the more unique places in Indiana has to be New Harmony along the lower Wabash River. It was settled several different times once being a Utopian society. This place was a major stop for some of the more important people of the time. Anyways it is very much out of the way and doesn't get the tourist like brown county and the junk associated with it. Just a cool little community with a neat story and basically the whole town is a muesum.
