Woody, I hope this is the right place to post this.........
What is the publics role in game management?
Watching a recent issue get debated in a neighboring state, I was wondering what you all thought "the publics role" should be in game management decisions.
Should game management departments ALWAYS go with what the majority of sporting folks want, or should they ALWAYS go with what their professional biologist reccomend?
How much influance should be granted to the publics wishes?
How much weight should be put into a survey?
You fellas have any thoughts on this?

I personally think that game management professionals should work closely with the "paying sportsmen" that utilize the outdoor resources. The "uninformed & misguided anti public" input should have very little bearing on making the correct decisions.
