Had to put the old family dog down today. Molly was just a good old chow / lab mutt, and she had been with us 16 years. Was getting to the point she could hardly lay down, or get up after she did lay down. I think we did the right thing.
About ten years ago, she got run over down on the highway, and I had to take her to a specialist vet in Anderson to get pins in her knee & hip. That broke her habit of straying from home, but she picked up the nick name "Old 900" from my buddies, because that's how much it cost to get her patched up.
So anyway ..... Old 900 is in Doggie heaven, and the crew around here is a little sad.

My sincerest condolences.
I know how you feel.
All my family's animals are part of the family and it hurts big time to lose one.
But we give them a good life and they give us lots of love and devotion in return.
Some say that when we get to Heaven all the dogs we ever owned will run out to meet us. Maybe that is true.
Now go find yourself a good pup...

Thanks Woody. No need for a pup, we have two others running around here. Seems like the ones that get brought home, wind up staying.
Hey.... How did the vacation trip go? Is there any gas left out west for me next month?

Trip was GREAT!!
We found that gas was a LOT cheaper up North and out West. I think a lot of their gas/oil comes from Canada and not the gulf.
We only paid over $3 a gallon twice.
Cheapest was in Kansas City at $2.49 a gallon.
When we left home it was $3.29 a gallon in Newburgh..
I sure loved those 75 MPH speed limits in some states out West..
Enjoy your hunt and we exopect a full trip report with pictures when you get back..

Been there. Sorry to hear it. I'll have it to do again with my beagle, she's about 13 now.
