I hadn't had the opportunity to hunt my duck pond yet. The water had receded greatly during this drought and I hadn't seen a single duck in there in a couple of weeks. I am hoping that if we truly do get the couple inches of rain over the next couple days, that it will rise up enough to bring the ducks back. At least a few anyhow.
My question is, IF the pond level does come up some, how long would it take for ducks to return? I would love to be sitting out there Wednesday morning 😀! Lol!

YEARS.. sometimes never.
If you have not shot it then don't worry, there are no ducks around here as of yet.
Do you you know of anybody killing ducks?

I had a friend go with rwj buddies yesterday and shoot their limits on mallards yesterday at LaSalle FWA.
My uncle has been getting wood duck limits at his location near the Kankakee River.

I saw a couple nice flocks of mallards flying over the road around Martinsville last evening. I almost pulled over to take pictures. Very rare in my experience last 15 years....

If the low areas grew up with food and the seeds ripened the ducks may show up fast. If just mud then maybe they use it as roost pond

It didn't. Lol! Lack of sleep caught up to me. I got up at 4 then went right back to bed. |
