My 2024 buck

I don't have much of a hero story. I was lucky to be in the right stand on the right morning. It was cold and foggy. Nothing was moving and it was very quiet. We got home late from a football game last night so I was short on sleep. I kept nodding off and was worried I was snoring. I got my phone out and started playing a game to stay awake. A while later I heard something. I looked up and this guy was walking on a trail towards me 20 yards away. I put my phone in my pocket and raised my crossbow. He stopped with a small tree right in front of its shoulder. I aimed as tight to it as I could and shot. It jumped and ran down the hill. It left a very faint blood trail. All we found was a handful of tiny specs of blood until I saw it down. My Dad helped me with it. Luckily it was close enough to a trail to use a ski rope to get it out. While field dressing it I found a rusty wire in its chest. I didn't see any holes besides the one from me. Maybe it slid in the entrance hole while dragging it out. The muzzy put a big hole in it and took out both lungs.
