I had the county do some work and they finally got around to it. Too late to plant grass or not?
Just north of Ft Wayne.

I have had the best luck planting just before end of March or first part of April. I am sure there are many ideas on this however this works best for me.

Grass seed is cheap, give it a shot. Allegedly we have rain coming, in which case I'm sure some of it will grow. You'll just have to reseed in the spring.

My grandpa always said you could plant (and have success) grass in any month ending in "R"......

Close enough. Sowed what I had. Figure the garage mice would get it anyway. Who knows with this global warming I may be mowing it in January.

I was told many years ago you can plant grass seed in any month with an R in it. That doesn’t mean it will come up right away.
That leaves out May, June , July and August. Basically the summer months are out

Well it looks like the grass did grow. I noticed it yesterday. It is about an inch long. Hopefully it is a tough species and makes through the winter. It appears like I may have a few bare spots but it should not take much to sow some more to fill out the spots.
