Text for the Day -- Psalm 119:63-67

I am a companion of all who fear you,
of those who keep your precepts.
The earth, O LORD, is full of your steadfast love; teach me your statutes.
You have dealt well with your servant,
O LORD, according to your word.
Teach me good judgment and knowledge,
for I believe in your commandments.
Before I was humbled I went astray,
but now I keep your word.
Devotional

God humbles us through the Law which speaks to our conscience. When
we do wrong, stray from the path or break the Law, the word of
judgment speaks to the heart. When you respond positively to this
humbling word from God, it opens a path of return to God's way and
teaching. Humility bends before the authority of God, who controls
life and death.
Prayer

Make real your word of mercy and consolation, O Lord, to those who
are bent low by terrible circumstances. Amen
