Text for the Day -- Psalm 17:8-9

Guard me as the apple of the eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings,
from the wicked who despoil me,
my deadly enemies who surround me.

David often prays and gives witness in the psalms that he knows he
cannot survive on his own. He needs God. He also knows that he
beloved by God. His experience of God's care has led him to believe
he is the apple of God's eye. He knows he is under the protection of
God, as a chick lives under the hen's wings. How aware are you of
your need for God's care?

I thank you, Lord, for caring for my life. Amen
