Tonight I was invited by a Friend to go Duck Hunting at Kingsbury FWA on 10 / 20 / 2024 . He was one of the lucky ones to get picked for a Draw there . I was wondering if anyone has any information on this place. Any information would be greatly Appreciated. I do plan on calling there Tomorrow but I figured I would ask my fellow Forum Members first .

It's a small marsh, no refuge area to speak of and not many ducks taken there annually.

We have killed ducks there before. Trolling motor will help immensely. Had a flock of 13 pelicans flying around during a December hunt a few years back… that was odd.

What looks and is referred to as the river is nothing but a straight and narrow drainage ditch.

You might want to take your boat along and the required safety equipment.

Kingsbury harvested around 20+/- mixed ducks last weekend. They have good water conditions.

Update
The hunting partner that I’m going hunting with is bringing a friend who has hunted there often . I myself have only been there once and that was for rabbits . So to hunt there with a person who has been there is going to be a great learning experience opportunity for me and the other person .

Update
Went hunting this morning . 38 degrees and no wind. We sat on the wet ground inside the tall weeds. Right after shooting time we had maybe 30 green and Blue wing Teal come into our spread . We thought that Teal Season was Closed so we didn’t Shoot . And that was the only Birds that we saw .

Did you hear a lot of shooting or see any other hunters to find out how well the place did?

We didn’t hear no other shooting . We did see lights a little further away from our spot and I did hear a Dog bark away from where the houses were .
