Correct Woody! To be close enough to be killed with a duck load, it had it coming. Plus from what happened afterward, I'd venture to guess that it was a pack leader and the wolf that grabbed the shot one by the throat was the next in line succession wise.

Another reason why duck hunting is so dangerous I will not only be on the lookout for Wolves but Bears also.

Illegal to kill a wolf to protect livestock or pets? I doubt there is a farmer that would admire the beauty and power of a wolf while it eats his income source.
