The wife and I will be sitting out in an open hay field with a small cooler of beer listening to Pink Floyd's DARK SIDE OF THE MOON.

Hopefully, it helps my healing. Pink Floyd is a great pick to listen to.

Oh man... I knew it was going to occult Saturn based on the path it was taking over the past week but didn't know it was going to happen this morning - or I would have stayed up even later for more aurora and the occultation. As for the eclipse it will look like nothing except to experienced eyes. A very very slight dimming and no more. An 8% eclipse isn't enough to get many amateur astronomers excited.

Only caught a small of a portion of the moon down here in Florida due to too many clouds. Was really hoping to get some good pics of it.

Saw the eclipse, both my boys came out as well. I didn't think we'd get a chance considering the cloud cover but it cleated just in time!

I ended up watching part of it - from just before peak to just as the umbra (the darkest part) was leaving the Moon. It looked pretty cool through the telescope. It was a lot better than I expected (as the news usually inflates astronomical events to either larger than life or bigger and brighter than they actually will be.

We saw some of the eclipse up here in Plymouth last night too. VERY clear skies.
