My truck is loaded with decoys, blind bag and jet sled. We're setting up and brushing in layout blinds this evening.
I cannot articulate enough about how excited I am for tomorrow morning!

Looks great! How will you get the ducks if they fall in the middle of the water? I waded out about 40 yards. It's only about 3'-3.5' deep to that point. Not sure if it gets much deeper. I'll have to be my own retriever! Lol! |

I like using a walking or wading stick. Not only does it help keep your balance, you can test the depth in front of you if you are not certain on your bottom.

I pulled a guy out of the water over his head. Only thing I could grab was his gun. It was a scary moment but luckily no one got hurt. Just a little wet and cold. |

My first goose hunt on the river this past winter during the late season, I stumbled and got a little water down in my waders. Luckily the water wasn't too deep. Made for uncomfortable morning. The next trip, I moved slower and with a lot more caution.

Brian and two buddies went out this morning for opener, I went catfishing in North Dakota, should have went with Brian. They filled their limits of ducks and are back at the house already.
