I picked up a Taurus 856 Defender .38, 3" barrel. I put a few rounds through it and liked the way it shoots. Not quite as good as S&W, but pretty decent considering it is way more affordable.
Anybody have experience with these?
I have taken to carrying a wheel gun instead of an auto lately.

After my bad experience with Taurus customer service in 2007-2008 I will never buy another. I had to send a Raging Bull back to them because the cylinder had locked and couldn't be opened. Even with filling out all the proper paperwork for customer service, they sent the revolver back to the hardware store that it was sent from, without any information on or in the box about who actually owned the revolver. If I hadn't personally known the owner of the hardware store, I probably would have never seen it again.
He knew what I sent, and called me when he opened up the box to see what it was.

I have owned the model 85 and a model 66. Never had an issue with either. The 66 was a very accurate gun.
Never had to deal with customer service, but haven't heard of many good experiences with them.

I traded a 66 a while back. Should have kept it - a great woods gun
