You have to call on the correct day for your hunt day to pick your unit it's who gets through on the phone lines first for that particular day. I guess look at topo maps and past history I did find a graph chart that showed how many deer were killed on each unit since like 2002. With my 10-year-old I'm more looking for easy access. I can't believe that there is zero scouting opportunities unless your unit is within the day use areas. |

It’s the way it is.
Used to be you could go just about anywhere and if not kill see a nice buck or three.
Now days it’s a bit lean.
As far as scouting, we’ve been in there so much we kinda know it.
We have been looking for different spots for different scenery so to speak.

Deer firearms and waterfowl results are out. Once again well over a decade with no success on waterfowl at Hovey. And I know guys personally who get drawn every year. Seems a little bit fishy.

My Dad over the years got drawn multiple times, some of the best pheasant hunting we ever did. |
