Results are out. I blanked for everything at Big Oaks. My son drew 11/9 and daughter drew 11/10, both gun hunts.

Me and my boy got drawn for big oaks never hunted there. seen a lot of mixed reports. I guess you have to go to the park and watch a video prior to the hunt. Or lose out on the first hour or two of your hunt. My son is only 10 anyone have any suggestions?

I honestly could care less about killing a deer there for myself I have a small piece of property that we do 98% of our hunting on my son asked me if we could hunt somewhere else I said sure let's put in for some hunts any suggestions for a 10-year-old would be appreciated. |

I’ve gone the night before to watch the safety video, and I’ve also watched it the day of the hunt. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten to my hunt zone after daybreak. I like to walk in after daylight anyway, so I can look for and set up on some fresh sign. I have passed some does and smaller bucks there, I never have actually killed a deer at Big Oaks though. |

Close to 2 hours. Unfortunately after daylight is probably the best option since your not allowed any scouting opportunities. Had I know all the details I probably would've applied. Live an learn I guess. Permit fees ect. I guess you can scout some if you get a daily use area. Sounds like unit pick is in order of who can get through on the phone line the quickest. |

So where are we all going for dinner after the hunt? :-) I too am drawn for 11-23, draw order 658? I also got 10/26-27 for the primitive muzzleloader hunt. Draw order 163? I got 9-2 for dove at Atterbury, draw order 1 |

It’s been a long time since I’ve hunted Big Oaks. What is the draw number for? I can’t find the answer in the hunt info link.
