I;m in the market for one. I want to stay at 2k for one or cheaper. Been looking at several different brands but I'm having a hard time deciding on what to buy. those that have and use them, what do you have? Any suggestions for one are appreciated. I do like what I see in reviews for the Pulsar brand. I will be using it for coyote hunting and also just to be able to see what is out there after dark. I have a night vision scope already. I purchased a refurbished ATN X sight LTV night vision scope that I'm really not too happy with, but it will get the job done.

I choose the the 19 over the 25 due to field of vision loss. It does have very good battery life. It does lockup once in a while when out in fridged cold, I mean like in the teens with a wind chill. But it resets quickly. We have discovered with a disposable hand warmer it keeps it from doing that. I purchased mine used from a fellow coyote hunter, so I knew where it came from. I am well pleased with it, I'm sure there are better one's out there, but for my budget it's great. Good luck with your search and choice. Everyone should have a thermal, they are a game changer ! Here is a pic from it.

Salty dog, don’t you mean AGM Taipan? I have the AGM Taipan tm15-384, it works good but I kind of wish I would have moved up to the next model. For my scope I have the AGM varmint ts35-384 it works really well too. I haven’t used them as much as I should for what they cost but it’s amazing what you see at night from field mice to opossums all over the place. Alot of deer too. I bought mine from Travis at Santa Claus Optics, he’s really helpful, (I’ve had to call him a couple of times when I was sighting in etc.) & he has a great inventory to look at when purchasing.

My night vision scope is an ATN and I am not real happy with it. It will get the job done, but it will be the last ATN product I purchase. I am planning on going to Santa Claus Optics maybe Friday. I have heard nothing but great reports on this business. That way I can check out many options in person and ask some questions also. I'm only about 45 minutes from Santa Claus.

I had no idea what I was doing going into the thermal optics thing so the 2hr 40 minute drive to Sant Clause Optics was worth it for me. Travis will treat you right.

I made the trip to Santa Claus Optics today and I pretty well had decided on getting a Pulsar scanner, but after talking to the owner and him letting me try several different brands and models I went with the AGM Rattler V2 25-384 scope. It comes with a quick detach scope mount so it can be used either as a hand-held scanner or I can mount on my AR and use it as a thermal scope. I am not to tech-smart so it is going to take me a while to figure out all that it will do, but I did take a ride after it got dark and the first bean field I looked at had three does probably 150 yards out and they were obvious and easy to see. I think it will be a great coyote-getter mounted on my Bushmaster AR or just to take a look-see to see what's out there after dark as a hand held scanner. I had a budget of 2,500.00 bucks and I got it for 2,050.00. I think I'm going to like it a lot!!

I use a cheap hikmicro 10mm spotter its enough to tell me that there is something there. Then I use a pard 007 on the back of my daytime scope. At night I use my old 22 hornet and that equipment is more than enough to allow me to shoot as far as I want to in the dark. Over here it's foxes and if the truth was known if they are called in very few will be shot over a true hundred yards.
