Minus the velvet, he doesn't seem to have a lot of mass. Am I incorrect? Tines and tine length outweigh mass.…the numbers add up quickly with more tines

Got this from our biologist regarding the buck with the tongue! LOL
White-tailed deer can have dangling tongues for a number of reasons. According to Georgia DNR, most dangling tongues are related to muscle or nerve damage from an abscessed tooth or an injury to the jaw. Sometimes, this can even be caused by birth defects. Deer have been documented living for years with this.
He's pretty dependable posing for camera shots each morning around 2-3AM

Hopefully one or two of the bigger ones will hang around long enough.

Last night on the way home an 8 or 10 pointer busted out of the corn in front of us. He looked to have shed his velvet. Nice tall rack and from what I saw very even.

Yeah. Stranger things have happened. Never know. I will never doubt what Mother Nature can do.

Seems to be quite a few good ones around this year. Gotta love those wet spring and early summers.... I know I've got a few more nice ones and a couple bigguns hanging around this year.

2023 @ 3.5 and 2024 @ 4.5. He is on our, don't shoot list. Always a gamble, but last year, I had 7 on, don't shoot list, and 5 made it through season.
