Good mom. Fawn laying by field edge after I cut hayfield. Momma is keeping an eye on it. ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240531/c489eb51ea1f7d5d5eadd83d28a32e08.jpg)

Brother almost hit one with his lawnmower on Wednesday. The grass is only about 4” tall where we mow the church yard and he didn’t see it until he was right on top of it.

I’d be sick if I did that. I brush hogged a nest of turkey eggs last spring. Bothered me something fierce.

LOL, I sent this fawn picture to a buddy of mine, he asked if I WAS THE FATHER, shows what kind of friends I’ve got.

I mowed one with my bush hog several years ago. Kind of hard to prevent if they don't move. In the long run, maintaining good deer habitat has helped far more deer that the killing of that one.

Hadn't seen any fawns until yesterday. Came home from a friend's house in town and there was a mother and fawn between the road and our neighbor's hay field. Later in the evening I did chores and as I walked out noticed a doe in the back of our property and a little brown spot near her but on the wrong side of our pasture fence. The doe didn't seem to realize her fawn couldn't get to her until she reached the corner and the fawn didn't follow. They worked their way back towards the CRP land where they had come from. There's a hole in the fence back there on that side and I'm guessing that's how the fawn got through. Not there this morning that I can see.

BTW…
I’m still getting the two dogs on my camera. I really don’t like that during fawn drop time.

Seen several fawns around our area over the weekend. Lots of deer movement.
Unfortunately two of them were roadkill. 👎

I had 2 run away from the tractor in the past few weeks. BOTH within 10 feet of water.
