Absolutely no turkeys as of yet in my neighborhood, no Morels either.
Did find a nice cluster of these that I will pick in the morning for breakfast.

Yes, years ago but they weren't as fresh as these.
I remember they looked and tasted like ESCARGOTS.
I will report back after I cook these.

That sounds horrible. I was pressured into eating s-car-go one time...never again. It was all mental but I could only picture big ol garden slugs....gag!

Our Sunday brunch consists of sauteed wild Shaggy Mane mushrooms at 3:00,farm fresh eggs nested in wilted baby spinach at 6:00 grilled fattened duck legs and maple bacon wrapped asparagus. The Shaggy Manes were better than I remember them.  |

I have been asked what do SHAGGY MANES taste like.
To me they have a mellow woodsy nutty taste.
I would second them to MORELS.

I have been asked what do SHAGGY MANES taste like. To me they have a mellow woodsy nutty taste. I would second them to MORELS. If iirc I read that you shouldn't have alcohol when eating shaggy manes. Not a good combo. |
