The call or texts...hey you gonna put me on a bird this year. When it start for you? Got my first of the year today. I'm waiting for the one that happens about a week from now every year. It's always funny to me because I talk to him once every year and it's usually this time. I don't mind but find it hilarious. If you're addicted to chasing these birds you know. I have the ones that call and the ones I make go. So you have yours yet?

That reminds me....you got my bird lined up yet? My standard is 1 chest hair. Gobbling, strutting walking, roosting, quiet as a church mouse, hit on the way to the woods 5 yards or 50 yards...don't care.

About the second week of April for me. I'll get the, "I'm just not seeing anything at my place, do you think you have room for one more?"
I like to turkey hunt and I really like taking friends out with no expectations of something in return. However, when you only hear from that one guy every April and nothing the rest of the year, I think he's more of an associate than a friend.

I've got the opposite(sorta) problem. There's one other person that can hunt where I hunt and they're probably not going to be able to make it.
