Anybody in central Indiana catching crappie yet? I'm thinking about getting out next week Wednesday or Thursday if the weather is good.

I tried last weekend and got skunked. Ended up with three bluegills but no crappie. This was at Roush so not exactly central Indiana. The high winds have detoured me from trying this weekend.

Caught a few on east fork white river on jigs. Saw a few guys catch some on minnows too.
Guys have been posting big slabs on Facebook off monroe. Docks and brush would be my strategy right now.

If present forecast holds,I think that I'll hit Westwood, just out of New Castle, Wednesday or Thursday. I've had success last couple of years around a beaver dam/lodge there.
I'll likely be bank fishing with small jigs.

I'll likely be bank fishing with small jigs. I used to do real good at Prarie creek from the bank casting minnows around down trees. Left there in 1998 so it has been a day or two. Sure nothing has changed. |

Cold front coming through Wed night so I'd go Tuesday or Wednesday.

I've been trying but I guess artificial isn't what they want where I went. According to the fish finder, I was covered up but I reckon it was showing false information lol

Maybe they were shad? Some days it takes a lot of switching baits and techniques to find the right combo. Had days where they wouldn't hit a a jig that was moving. Had to dead stick it. I could see the school on the graph so knew they were there. |
