Anybody know what kind of bird this is? Looks like some sort of sparrow to me. ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240114/89c0e14ede207430aaf013bd300a4161.jpg)

Most likely, it is a Song Sparrow. The Fox Sparrow looks similar but is usually a bit more reddish on primary feathers.

I think it is a Fox Sparrow. There is color variation, so.e have more red than others. The Song Sparrow has a distinctive streak or bar behind the eye.

Sparrows are challenging to ID You could very well be correct. And yes, sparrows can be tricky to identify. I just felt like the slight bar variation behind the eye was slightly noticeable. Mostly, though, looking back through my Merlin app history, I have not picked up a fox sparrow since November, 2022 in Northeast Missouri. Any of these sparrows are apt to visit a feeder. Maybe Genesis can pick up a few more pics just for the heck of it! 📸🤠 Of course that’s no guarantee that it’s the same bird🤷♂️

genesis could do what Audubon did to ID birds and to draw their pictures. That'd be one way to get a positive ID.
