They bring over $300 at most auctions that I watch.

They sure have sold a bunch of them. Pretty reliable little rifles.

I'm not sure when they switched to birch but I purchased a new 10/22 in the late 70's/early 80's and it came with a walnut stock.

People are nuts at auctions. I've seen used pallets of concrete blocks sell for more than what you could have new ones delivered to your doorstep for.

I know. I once had a note from my bank for a raw land purchase for $100k The parcel I was after was worth around $80k but it was to me a desirable piece of ground. With that I was willing to go to the $100k I had. Would you know it went for clear over $300k??? Good night. That was stupid!!! But in the end I ended up with a better piece of ground with way more acreage and not 1 but 2 ponds so I’m pretty happy now it didn’t work out.

This was one gun I knew I SHOULD have but didn't .....at Christmas my son fixed that as he bought me a takedown!! We are going shooting next week. I have a little 2x7 Sig scope that will go on it and I look forward to plinking with that joker.

Can you use a regular scope or does it have to be a scout scope so the gun keeps the same POI when re-assembled?

Can you use a regular scope or does it have to be a scout scope so the gun keeps the same POI when re-assembled? Regular scope. Comes with a rail to attach to the receiver (take down is just the barrel), So I will see how it goes. I may end up with a red dot if it is too bulky.

Let me know how the accuracy is when you take it down and put the barrel back on. With the scope on the receiver and not on the barrel I'm curious to see if it holds the same POI once disassembled and re-assembled.
