Some nice looking stuff on there.
It looks like 10% Buyers fee, 2% online bidding fee, 3% credit card fee, Indiana sales tax. So for an online bidder, purchase price + 22%. I wonder if prices will reflect that.

I wonder if prices will reflect that. I have never experienced a gun auction that resulted in a good price. Saw cheap single shot shotguns go 30% over retail of new guns. People are crazy. Those were in person and not a huge part of the sale so maybe those buyers were just wrapped up I'm the momemt and not thinking what they were buying.

Ruger 10/22 $250 and $225. .410 shells sold for $$30 and $35/box before fees and taxes. .308 Win power point ammo $35/box, 12 ga Win AA's $12.50/box etc. Fees there are 10% with 3% for credit card fee + 7% Sales Tax. If you buy something over $2,500.00 you have the option of paying withe a check and saving the 3%.

If I go to an auction I look it over and get in my mind “I’ll go $200 on that”. When they start the bidding BOOM it goes past $200 like a rocket!” That means I very seldom get anything at an auction. I know.. I’m cheap! .

It’s definitely a competition for some. I’ve saw many different guns and ammo go for like new prices and was nowhere near new. A guy at one said he had a pocketful of money and was going to use it all on guns no matter what the price. And he sure did. After about his third ridiculous winning bid I went elsewhere.

Yeah it hard to get deal at them big auction especially the ones that allows internet bidding. If someone is looking for hard to find gun it may be a good source but I wouldn’t expect a bargain.

I will look at what a comparable new item is going for if the item at auction is new, and if I can't get it for less than the new item including sales tax and all fees, somebody else can have it.

Read the fine print. They want to put a $500 hold on your credit card before you can even bid. I didn't see when they'd be lifting the hold.

I found a mislabled Trapdoor. Lot #757 1870 Trapdoor 50-70 not 45-70. Someone may be in for a surprise if they buy it and try to fire 45-70's in it. The gun looks to be in good shape. The stock appears to be solid.
No S&W or Colt 1917 45ACP. I have been looking for one but the price is always more than I want to pay. Looking more and more like I will have to get the S&W Brazilian model from left over parts.
There is a cut down (stock) 1896 Krag early on. All it needs is a correct stock and some bands. Should be able to buy it with out doing the 4473.
A lot of ammo in day 2. If someone wanted M1 Grarand ammo there is a bunch. Do your homework on some countries production first.

Where did all these guns come from? Is this a consignment auction where people bring in guns for this auction? If a guy can't find his dream gun here I doubt he will.

Lot 2260 | 1853 Purdey 14 Ga. Side By Side Percussion Shotgun This lot got my attention! I hope the winning bidder appreciates it. I have watched a lot of auctions but this is the first Purdy I have seen. Does anyone know where I might get a set of Tweeds to go with it? Size 4xl? I might have to give driven Grouse a go.

Every first weekend in January they have a firearm consignment auction. They have I believe 4 or 5 auctions going on that weekend, all consignment. Knives, taxidermied stuff, police badges, etc., etc. They will have a consignment auction about once a month, but the January one is the big one for firearms.
