Ouch.
I’ve hunted Ballard County. At that time it was a deer rich county.
I feel it’s just a matter of time before it hits Indiana..

They are monitoring for it in Indiana. I agree, just a matter of time before it is found.

I bet plenty do swim. A few years ago I saw a deer swimming the Wabash from Indiana toward Illinois, the river was flooded at the time to boot.

Actually hear very little about it. IDK? More worried about EHD outbreaks, and really in big picture with things going on in the world. CWD is low on my radar.

I will more than likely be done deer hunting once it hits here. I couldn’t knowingly/unknowingly feed an infected animal to a child or family member. Risks aren’t worth it. www.cdc.gov/prions/cwd/prevention.html

If it found close to where you are the DNR will attempt to kill most Deer in the area it’s found

If it found close to where you are the DNR will attempt to kill most Deer in the area it’s found Yup. And the more we look for it, the more likely to be found. What is DNR's plan if it is found? I don't have an educated opinion on cwd. I have heard it has been around for decades out west. Is that true? If so, did it destroy those populations? I have been told it isn't transferable to humans... but I don't think I would risk it either.

They have a plan but I don’t think it’s public information until it’s found…..When TB was found they killed deer and cattle in the area if I remember correctly then continued to monitor and test.
I don’t believe any state has lost it’s hunting or herd to CWD…..Indiana does test all farm deer for CWD but BOAH handles that.

I will continue to supplemental feed in off season as from my research the pros outweigh the cons. "IF" CWD shows up in area I would stop. IL has had a few cases in a couple counties and have seemed to be able to contain or at minimum slow spread. I don't worry about things outside my control, "IF" or "WHEN" it shows up would just have to adapt.

I sure hate to hear this! It's bad enough when EHD comes through!

I'm sure you aren't the only one who feels that way, but hopefully that decision doesn't come back to bite us all on the a** in the future.

I don’t believe Ohio ever stopped the baiting or feeding and they’ve had multiple confirmed cases.
