I am from East Tennessee. I am coming up that way this weekend. My brother and I are trying to find some spots to bowhunt this fall. We are strictly bowhunters and to us that means "no firearms period" !!! We have no problem with taking does and if that is part of us getting to hunt a place is to take does only, we have no problem with that. In our area of Tennessee we have plenty of turkeys and some great fishing for crappie, stripe bass, and hybrid bass. Maybe we could swap something out.

See what you can google up on Indian and Celina lake in Perry county. There is a camping area there and you will have more public hunting within 20 minutes of your campsite than you will know what to do with.

I'll second that. Celina is located on State Road 37 South, and is part of a chain of small lakes interconnnected by hiking trails. If you can bring a boat go to the rear parking lot where the boat ramp is and use the boat to cross to the other side of the lake, there's almost no hunting pressure on that side. The forest is rich in deer and turkeys, be sure to bring a deer cart and a GPS.

I can show you around some good public land that will remind you of home (hills) in brown county. And there's good camping near by too.

toxphil, you don't say where in ET your from or where in IN you want to hunt. I'm from outside Knoxville (my family is originally Sevier Co.) I live in Ripley Co. and might be able to hook you up for bow hunting.
