Daphne and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary on May 1st next year. I just booked us a vacation up at Torch Lake in Michigan. The address of the condo we're staying at shows Bellaire as the town we'll be near.
Torch Lake looks amazing! Bellaire seems like a cute little town too. We're both looking forward to the tripband trying some new foods and taking in the beautiful scenery!
Has anyone been up that way? Any food, shopping, etc.. suggestions?
Although our anniversary is May 1st, we're not going to Torch Lake until July 21st. We're hoping the water temps will be a little nicer then.

Forget Torch Lake and stay in Traverse City instead. They have great places to eat and touring Mission point and Leelanau Peninsula are romantic places to see. I can give you a weeks worth of great places to see. The wife and I have spend every fall touring that area for the past 20 years or so.

I have some friends that hit torch lake every year closer to Father’s Day in June. They kill the smallmouth bass. They say that lake was crystal clear, and they are sight fishing to smallies on beds. So, take your boat!

I really appreciate the suggestion here but, she had her heart set on Torch Lake the moment she seen the water. I did show her several other places, 2 or 3 in Traverse City, and she kept going right back to Torch Lake. She loves being on and in the water. Although with some of her medical issues, she does have her limitations. She does think Traverse City is nice and she does want to take a day to spend there.

This is where the wife and I stay, you can't get anymore near the water then this. www.bayshore-resort.com/This location is just mins. away from the downtown area and from the beginning of each of the peninsulas. The lighthouses at the end of each peninsula offers a great walk and view, also a great place to have a picnic lunch of smoked fish that you would get from Carlson's fish. carlsonsfishery.com/Eat the best White fish you will ever eat at the COVE which is next to Carlson's. restaurantguru.com/Cove-Leland-MichiganTry their "CHUBBY MARY". I have a lot more places if requested. REMEMBER : this is a vacation for her and the more romantic you are now the better it will be when you want to go fishing or hunting later. I would suggest spraying your credit card with non-stick cooking spray if goes a lot easier.
