This is for our MN friend Budd. What’s the status of your lakes/ponds freezing over? I don’t have hardly any birds in north central IN,, certainly no migrators. It’s been pretty warm this month but supposed to turn off colder next week.

Lakes and ponds all opened back up. Have never seen it this warm this late into the year. We have lots of ducks around. My son has been having a blast!!!

Good for him, not so good for us. Thanks for the info! My fear is that we freeze up next week and nothing stops here on the way down. I saw a grand total of 5 mallards on our ponds today.

Lakes are froze. Brian walked 20 yards out on the lake and said there was 3 inches. Someone was already out running tip up’s for northern.

Appreciate the info Budd, we had a skim today that was soon gone. About 10 mallards showed up this week. Woo-hoo. I may take up knitting.
