Has any one attached a ladder to the front of a lock on stand to make it a ladder stand? I cannot climb stick ladders and make the swing in to the lockon any more. This old body just won't do it but I can climb a ladder stand ok. I have 2 extension ladders I thought about painting flat black then attaching to a couple of my big lockons to make ladder stands. How would you hook them together.

Have several home made ladders welded up from 1/2 inch tubing. Welded triangle from top of ladder to a point that attaches to tree. Then bolt the hang on to the triangle. Used plywood tops for a while but had to replace after 2-3years. Hang on stand fixed that.

Yes, I do it all the time. I buy old aluminum ladders at auctions. I also buy lock-on stands and mount the front floor of the stand to the top of the ladder. They work great and are lighter than store-bought ladder stands
